help…

For over ten years, the collectors founders of MO5.COM, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the history of computers and video games, have been assembling one of the largest collections in Europe. They bring their machines back to life through public interactive exhibits, while preparing the collection’s future with a museum project..
But this collection is now threatened: security risks have been identified by a specialized commission in the premises where it has been stored for five years, in the basement of a Paris suburbs secondary school, arranged by us. The commission has requested the departure of all 30,000 pieces that make up the collection. But MO5.COM, relying only on volunteers, has neither the space needed to store this collection elsewhere, nor sufficient means to fully take care of the move.
If no solution is found rapidly, thousands of machines, books, magazines, pieces of software, and various items that are witnesses to the history of computing risk destruction. This would represent a major loss of national cultural assets. More than ever, we need help, as well as political support, in order to make institutions understand the importance of our work to preserve this heritage!
You can help!
With the means at your disposal-forums, blogs, e-mail-you can inform the public. If you live in or near Paris, you can give us a hand during weekends, helping us prepare for our move. Maybe you know someone with a room that could be made available to MO5.COM for its work.
You can watch the fate of our collection on a daily basis on this website, http://soutien.mo5.com. You can also leave comments on MO5.COM’s mag.
